How to Care for Graphic T-Shirts: Washing, Fading and Shrinkage FAQ
Share
The design matters. So does how you treat it. Buyers often ask whether graphic prints fade, crack or peel, and whether cotton shirts shrink in the laundry. Those are reasonable questions. Here's what to know without promises no brand can verify for every wash.
How do I wash a printed graphic tee?
First, follow the actual care label sewn into your garment. That is the source of truth for its material and printing process. Where the label allows, gentler washing and avoiding unnecessary abrasion or excessive heat can help reduce wear. Do not assume a care tip found online overrides your product's instructions.
Do graphic prints crack or fade?
Prints can age differently according to the application method, garment fabric, washing, drying, and frequency of wear. Fabric GSM alone does not establish print durability. O1C does not claim that any graphic is guaranteed never to fade or crack.
Does pre-shrunk mean shrink-proof?
No. “Pre-shrunk” describes a treatment intended to reduce later shrinkage, not a promise of zero shrinkage. Our KING™, PAIN IS LOVE™ and PRAYED IN FULL™ product specifications identify pre-shrunk fabric.
What materials are O1C graphic shirts made of?
KING and PAIN IS LOVE: 100% carded cotton, garment-dyed, 240 GSM. PRAYED IN FULL: 142 GSM, combed and ring-spun cotton in solid colors; heather colors contain polyester. For the correct advice, check the exact garment and its care label.
What about ironing the artwork?
Use the garment's instructions; avoid direct heat on printed artwork unless the instructions specifically allow it. Not every print process tolerates the same treatment.
What should I do if I have a question about my actual shirt?
Contact Only One Crown with the product name, color and order details so the guidance can be specific to your garment. A generic online answer is not a substitute for the manufacturer's care instructions.
FAQ: Is a heavyweight print automatically stronger?
No. A thicker shirt and a more durable print are different attributes. Choose based on the item's stated specifications and the intended fit.
For fabric and fit differences, see our heavyweight versus lightweight tee guide and O1C's sizing and care FAQ.
